According to talkSPORT, New York Red Bulls chief executive has suggested that Thierry Henry could be on his way to play top-flight football in Europe.
Punters in the tavern are convinced he will return to France and it is thought the only outfits in Ligue 1 that could afford him will be either Monaco – where he began his career – or fellow big spenders Paris Saint-Germain.
The Highbury hero’s future hangs in the balance with the 37-year-old still banging in goals for the Red Bulls for fun and sharing the same hunger that he did in the early stages of his career.
And New York Red Bulls’ Head of Football is former Liverpool boss Gerard Houllier and he is confident that Henry can succeed at the top level in Europe.
He said: “At the moment no decision has been made, either in one direction or the other.
“Thierry has not decided to end his career. We would love to keep him but it will also depend on him.
“He never seems to get old and continues to score goals. Could he play again in Ligue 1? Absolutely, no problems.”
