Arsenal supporters are still hanging around the Football Transfer Tavern after watching Arsene Wenger’s sides impressive 3-1 victory over Stoke City at the Emirates Stadium earlier today.
Ben Jefferson from The Express follows them to explain that the Gunners are preparing to move for Bundesliga stars Julian Draxler and Marco Reus during the January transfer window.
Mesut Ozil arrived on deadline day in a club record deal and now it appears that Wenger is set to continue this new spending spree by bidding for the duo.
Draxler has been on Wenger’s radar for the past season or so but so far Schalke”s £34 million asking price has put off the Premier League outfit. The midfielder only signed a new contract with the German club earlier this year but he could still consider a switch to the Emirates Stadium in the upcoming transfer window.
While Reus has also come into Arsenal’s thinking as they try to become a title challenging side once again and the Dortmund star would also be available for £34 million given his buy out clause in his current deal with the defeated Champions League finalists of last season.
Do Arsenal stand any realistic chance in luring these fine Bundesliga talents and adding them to their growing German contingent? Let us know your thoughts below.
