Here in the Football Transfer Tavern we’re always interested in the latest reports about possible Premier League arrival and today’s Daily Star report that Arsenal and Liverpool face competition from two Serie A clubs to sign Italian Under-21 international Jorginho.
The Hellas Verona playmaker, who was originally born in Brazil, has also been linked with a switch to Liverpool while Arsene Wenger is also thought to be tracking the youngster’s progress in Italy.
The 21-year-old attracted the attention of Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers in the summer and with increasing concerns over the injury to creative midfielder Philippe Coutinho, the former Swansea City boss may move for the naturalised Italian.
Jorginho has done well for Verona since the club gained promotion from Serie B last season and has already chipped in with three assists in his eight matches this term.
According to Italian sources, both Fiorentina and Juventus are interesting in making a £7 million bid for the midfielder following Verona’s impressive start to the season as they currently sit in sixth place in Serie A.
