There is an excited buzz here in the Football Transfer Tavern as it has been claimed via talkSPORT that Arsenal are set to turn their attentions to a young striking sensation.
After netting seven goals in a single week in February, it is no shock that Yaya Sanogo has drawn the attention of several clubs including Arsene Wenger’s side. Arsenal of course have been heavily linked with a move for Barcelona’s out of favour striker David Villa, yet this latest move could well put an end to that saga.
Sanogo is only 20-years-old and is currently plying his trade for Ligue 2 outfit Auxerre – a club Arsenal have prized Abou Diaby and Bacary Sagna away from in the past. The sensation is well aware of the interest that surrounds him and given that his contract is up in the summer and no new deal has been penned, that attention looks set to intensify over the coming months.
The Gunners will have to battle it out with a host of clubs from the top leagues around Europe, yet it has been claimed that talks may have already begun between the player and Arsenal chief scout Gilles Grimandi regarding a move to North London at the end of the season.
Could Arsenal be set for a third raid on Auxerre? Rate this rumour below.
