Arsenal man reportedly makes major decision as he looks to resolve his future

The Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern don’t want to see anyone leave the Emirates this summer…

Last season was a struggle for the Gunners, with Arsene Wenger’s side faltering to a finish outside of the top four for the first time in recent memory.

Indeed, if Arsenal are to have any chance of getting back amongst the top sides in the Premier League this summer, it’s clear that they had a lot of catching up to do over the summer – and they have done just that. Both Alexandre Lacazette and Sead Kolasinac have been shrewd acquisitions by Wenger, and the fans in the pub now think that their squad is close to perfect.

What the Gunners don’t need, though, is any unnecessary departures – but it appears as though that is exactly what they’re about to get. According to Goal, Lucas Perez has handed in an official transfer request at Arsenal after struggling to make his mark on the Premier League last season.

Perez was rarely a feature for the Gunners in the last campaign, with Wenger clearly not trusting the forward to lead the line in any of their important fixtures.

As a result, he clearly isn’t happy, and it appears as though he wants out in an effort to find first team football.

Landlord’s Verdict

Lucas Perez’s spell at Arsenal so far has been very disappointing, but it really hasn’t had to be like that.

Whenever he played last season he actually looked very good. He offered a real goal threat and his quality on the ball is completely undeniable.

However, Arsene Wenger clearly – for one reason or another – doesn’t fancy him, and so a move away could be on the cards this summer.

With the acquisition of Lacazette, it’s unlikely that he will feature prominently next season were he to stay.
