Arsenal man speaks out after demoralising 3-1 loss to Chelsea

The Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern are still furious after their side suffered defeat at the hands of Chelsea over the weekend…

After stunning the Blues in the reverse fixture, hopes amongst the Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern were high – but after just a few minutes, their optimism quickly dissipated.

A goal from Marcos Alonso set the tone for the game, and excellent goals from Eden Hazard and Cesc Fabregas followed later in the game – and not even a consolation goal from Olivier Giroud was enough to calm the anger of the Arsenal fans in the pub.

It would appear as though the fans are not the only group that are angry, though, with Arsenal defender Laurent Koscielny the latest to come out and speak out about his side’s performance.

According to the Sun, he said: “I think we should have played more as a team and there was space to do so. They hit us on the counter”.

Nothing summed up this point more than Chelsea’s goal, with Eden Hazard speeding away from Arsenal’s disappointing midfield line.

Speaking about Arsenal’s title prospects, he said: “It will be difficult now. Mathematically, nothing is done but we know that it is going to be very complicated. We need to come back to the quality of our game, our passing, movement”.

Laurent Koscielny is speaking on behalf of many of the Arsenal fans in the Tavern here, with many absolutely devastated that their title chances appear to be non-existent.

On the day, Chelsea were the far better team – and this is something that the Gunners in the pub aren’t going to let go lightly.

With Chelsea now 12 points ahead of the Gunners, our landlord thinks that it is time for Arsenal to start preparing for next season…
