There is drama here in the Football Transfer Tavern as it is claimed by The Daily Express that Manchester United and Arsenal target Victor Wanyama could well be set to stay at his current club Celtic.
The player’s future has been subject to mass speculation and a move to the Premier League had been mooted now however the 21-year-old has claimed that despite turning down the chance of a contract extension at the club he is set on staying at Celtic.
Scouts from both United and Arsenal have been sent to watch the young player in action yet the player himself seems unfazed by the attention noting that: “I am happy at Celtic, I love it here. I’ll be here next season. I haven’t spoken to my agent because I’ve been concentrating on playing football.
“I haven’t thought about leaving so there’s been no need to speak to him.
“I feel I’m at the right club and I’m happy. It’s good to be linked with big clubs because it gives me a big boost to work harder and keep doing well.”
The player is valued at around £10 million yet Neil Lennon feels the value is much higher than that.
