Arsenal and Manchester United fans have been getting at each other’s throats this afternoon as they debate which club will win the race for an exciting addition in January, after reports broke of their interest.
The Mirror state Arsenal are preparing a swoop for West Ham United midfielder Reece Oxford in January but The Times says similar with Manchester United, setting up a huge transfer battle in the New Year.
16-year-old Oxford has made an impression in the first-team at Upton Park this season and Arsenal experience his talents first-hand, as the teenager excelled on the opening day of the Premier League campaign as the Hammers defeated Arsene Wenger’s side.
It’s stated Arsenal were interested in the teenager before he committed himself to West Ham and the club are now ready to rectify their mistake with an £8m bid in the New Year.
However, United’s interest could drive the price up as they’re also reported to be eying an £8m swoop when the transfer window opens.
Arsenal and United fans at the bar have both been impressed by the youngster’s stellar performances this season and believe he’d be a tremendous asset, urging their side to emerge victorious in the battle for his signature.
