The Daily Star reports that Arsenal and Manchester City are still both in pursuit of Fiorentina striker Stevan Jovetic this summer.
The 23-year-old could be available this summer after the Italian club admitted they would consider selling their prized asset. Fiorentina’s chief executive Sandro Menucci said: “From the financial perspective, we’re not excluding any team.”
Jovetic has been hunted by a host of top sides after a superb season in Serie A but Juventus have revealed that after securing Carlos Tevez from Manchester City and Fernando Llorente from Atletico Bilbao they are not in the market for another forward.
Juve general director Giuseppe Marotta said: “A lot has been said about Jovetic but difficulties in our relationship has made any deal difficult.
“At the moment I don’t think it will be possible, but a lot could happen between now and the beginning of September.”
Manchester City are looking for a replacement for Tevez while Arsenal are expected to clinch the signing of Real Madrid striker Gonazlo Higuain by the weekend. Although with a £70 million transfer kitty at Arsene Wenger’s disposal, there is no reason that the Gunners won’t move again for Jovetic too.
