The Daily Star reveals that Manchester United, Arsenal and Tottenham are battling it out to sign Bayer Leverkusen’s £12 million-rated Omer Toprak after the Turkish international has recovered from life threatening injuries.
The 25-year-old has remarkably overcome a horrific go-karting crash which gave him severe burns.
He was placed in a specialist hospital and his recovery required numerous skin grafts and treatments.
But after being out for four months, he came back and became one of the best defenders in the Bundesliga.
Toprak is known for his calmness on the ball, which is assisted with his great pace and knowledge of the game and this has seen him win 23 caps for Turkey.
And now it is believed the German-born player has caught the eye of the Premier League’s top clubs.
With the Reds, Red Devils and Spurs all on the look out for defensive reinforcements, punters in the tavern think an inspirational figure like Toprak is exactly what the clubs may need.
He has impressed in the Bundesliga and there is no reason why the 25-year-old cannot improve and be moulded into a strong Premier League defender.
