There are some shocked faces here in the Football Transfer Tavern after the Daily Mirror‘s latest claim.
The publication have noted that despite interest from Manchester United and Arsenal, Morgan Schneiderlin will not force a move away from current club Southampton.
As one of our punters points out, there are a fair few players who have been targeted this season after the Saints’ excellent form, and all have expressed a desire to stay at the club – for now.
The Frenchman did acknowledge that all the Southampton players are being tracked this term, but claimed that a move was not on the cards.
He noted: “As long as we don’t receive a concrete offer, and as long as the club says they won’t sell, I will never force a transfer.”
In a summer where Luke Shaw, Adam Lallana and Rickie Lambert will all face links suggesting they may leave the club, our landlord thinks that this is a welcome bit of news for the St. Mary’s regulars, but as always with football, you can never say never to a huge bid coming in.
Especially from a club with the resources of a Manchester United or an Arsenal!
Will United or Arsenal make their interest in Schneiderlin official this summer? Let us know your thoughts below.
