Arsenal midfielder ‘likely’ to leave the Gunners this summer – report

Jack Wilshere is a fan favourite amongst the Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern…

Having burst onto the scene as a teenager, the Englishman was widely touted in the pub as the Premier League’s next big thing. For a few years, he certainly exceeded expectations, but over the last few seasons, the Englishman has struggled.

A mixture of form issues and a lack of fitness have really hurt the midfielder, and whilst a season on loan at Bournemouth last season was – for the most part – successful, his long-term future has remained uncertain.

He didn’t exactly set the world alight last season, and a leg injury ended his campaign earlier than was hoped – leaving his future under the microscope once more.

Now, at least according to the Mirror, Arsenal have made a decision on the Englishman – with John Cross reporting that he will be allowed to leave the club this summer, with a departure being touted as a ‘likely’ outcome.

Though this is disappointing for the Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern, they certainly aren’t surprised. Arsenal’s midfield is loaded with quality, and the simple fact of the matter is that Wilshere likely won’t feature within it on a regular basis next season were he to stay.
