Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern are divided on their views concerning one of their midfielders, who’s set to go to the European Championships this summer despite barely featuring this season.
The Telegraph says England boss Roy Hodgson will select Jack Wilshere in his 23-man squad for this summer’s European Championship, despite the young midfielder playing just six minutes of first-team football this season.
Wilshere only made his first appearance of the season in the 0-0 draw against Sunderland on 24th April and did not feature against Norwich City last weekend, with it highly unlikely he’ll play 90 minutes before the end of the campaign.
However, Hodgson is hopeful Wilshere can find his fitness in England’s three warm-up matches for the summer’s tournament and prove to be a valuable asset, as the Three Lions look to bounce-back from a disappointing World Cup two-years ago.
For the Arsenal fans though, many of them would much prefer Wilshere to have the summer off to improve on his fitness ahead of the new season as the midfielder has been plagued by injuries throughout his short career.
Arsenal fans, should Wilshere head to Euro 2016 this summer? Let us know in the comments below?
