Arsenal: Miguel Azeez contract extension sparks excitement among North London faithful

These Arsenal fans are happy after it was reported that youth prospect Miguel Azeez has agreed on a professional contract with the club.

It is being reported by AllNigeriaSoccer that the 16-year-old will sign a three-year contract, with an option to extend it by a further two years.

Azeez made his debut for Arsenal’s under-18 side at the mere age of 15, as well as making his debut for the club’s under-23 side in a friendly versus Boreham Wood last month.

The 16-year-old’s professional contract follows on from a change in coaching roles at Arsenal this summer.

Steve Bould moved from the first-team to under-23 to take over as manager, with Freddie Ljungberg moving up to the role of assistant first-team coach.

Arsenal fans seem happy at the news surrounding the youngster and took to Twitter to react. One fan even tipped him as the ‘New Ronaldinho’, with the comparison possibly being drawn from his similar hairstyle, but there’s no doubting his ability as he’s climbed through the youth ranks with ease.

Here is a selection of tweets from the North London faithful:
