Arsenal monitor Ligue 1 forward ahead of January swoop

Lacazette.jpgArsenal fans have been dancing on the tables here in the Transfer Tavern after seeing reports linking them to one of the most highly-rated up and coming strikers in European football.

Earlier this week Get French Football ran with quotes from Lyon forward Alexandre Lacazette, where he stated he was ‘hurt and disappointed’ by club chairman Jean-Michel Aulas; who publicised details of contract talks with the French international.

Lacazette, who won Ligue 1’s top-scorer award last term with a record-breaking tally, is struggling for form this season after confessing the off-season problems have contributed to a slow start this season- as he also accused Lyon manager Hubert Fournier of failing to protect him.

These developments are said to have alerted Arsenal to Lacazette’s situation, with TuttoMercatoWeb citing L’Equipe as declaring the Gunners are contemplating a move for the 24-year-old in January.

The Arsenal fans at the pool table are delighted by these claims, as they truly believe Lacazette is the calibre of forward that their side need to take them from title contenders to genuine favourites.
