Arsenal fans are pleasantly surprised to see their team being linked with a host top players in recent days, after a quiet start to the transfer window.
A deal for Chile international forward Alexis Sanchez is on the verge of being completed, and QPR’s Loic Remy is expected to follow shortly.
And the Daily Star reckons Arsene Wenger could revamp his strikeforce further, with a move for former Chelsea forward Salomon Kalou.
The Gunners displayed an interest in the Lille forward during the January transfer window, and were quoted a price of £2.5 million for his services.
However, if Wenger wants to move for Kalou now, it will cost double the price of £5 million.
The Ivory Coast international enjoyed a successful 2013/14 campaign, scoring 16 goals and appearing in all of his countries’ World Cup matches.
North London rivals Tottenham are also thought to be interested in Kalou, who won the 2012 Champions League during his time at Chelsea.
Merseyside rivals Liverpool and Everton have also been linked, whilst big spending Monaco are keen to keep the 28-year-old in Ligue 1.
However, a return to London and the chance of Champions League football makes the Gunners Kalou’s preferred destination.
Arsenal fans. How do you feel about the possible signing of Salomon Kalou? He never really cut it in the Premier League during his time at Chelsea; what makes you think it will be different this time around? Let us know your thoughts below.
