Arsenal's transfer business isn't over just yet as Unai Emery is still keen to add a midfielder to his squad according to recent reports.

In the last few weeks, rumours have linked the Gunners with a move for World Cup winner, Steven Nzonzi. Unai Emery is keen to reunite with the Sevilla midfielder. After a great start to his Sevilla career, Nzonzi has fallen out of favour at the Spanish side and is eager to leave.

While Arsenal have been in pole position to sign the French midfielder, Gazzetta dello Sport via Sky Sports believe that AS Roma are now interested in signing Nzonzi whom sporting director, Monchi signed for Sevilla.

The Breakdown

Nzonzi's move to Sevilla went under the radar to many football fans but since then the tall midfielder has turned himself into one of the better defensive midfielders in Europe. The Frenchman is a defensive force in midfield but his passing is very underrated. He's able to take the ball from defence and although he may not be able to play a perfect 40-yard pass, he never wastes the ball and is adept to giving it to creative players in great positions.

Paired with either Granit Xhaka or Lucas Torreira, Arsenal could have a great base in midfield. The Frenchman's defensive ability would be able to cover for Xhaka who at times, can be exposed.

Nzonzi's £35 million release clause will certainly be perceived as an extortionate price in some quarters considering what Arsenal have spent already this summer but, if they could wrap up their window with the acquisition of Nzonzi, the club will have undoubtedly had a great summer of spending.
