Arsenal fans in the Tavern are still furious following Atletico Madrid’s late goal in the Europa League semi-final which has given the Spaniards heading into the second-leg.
Arsene Wenger has announced he will leave the club at the end of the season and top of the new manager’s priority list will be the future of Hector Bellerin. The right-back has been continually linked with a move back to Barcelona, the club he left as a youngster. Barca are known admirers of the Spaniard and are keen to bring him back to his native Spain.
Arsenal are unwilling to allow their star defender to leave the club but Barcelona are set to offer a massive player in exchange.
According to Don Balon, the Spanish giants could offer Ousmane Dembele to the Gunners in exchange for Bellerin’s services.
If these reports are to be believed, Arsenal would be stupid to turn down such an offer. Indeed, the 20-year-old joined Barcelona last summer for £100m from Borussia Dortmund after they allowed Neymar to join Paris St Germain.
Injuries have halted his progress, restricting him to just 13 La Liga appearances this season. Valued at £72m by Transfermarkt, Dembele could be set to depart the club after just one season as Barcelona line up a move for Atletico Madrid forward – Antoine Griezmann.
Bellerin would be replaceable at the Emirates, but Dembele would give them a world-class forward to add to their attack. Comfortable on either wing, the Frenchman would be a nightmare for Premier League defences
Losing Bellerin would be a blow, but it might be worth it if they receive Dembele in return.
