There are some interested faces here in the Football Transfer Tavern as the Daily Mail claim that Arsenal will have to cough up more if they want to land one of their top summer targets.
French international Clement Grenier has been one of Arsene Wenger’s top targets for some time now and it could well be the case that he needs to up his £6 million bid if he has any chance of landing the highly rated Lyon star.
One thing that could well work in the manager’s favour is the fact that the star is out of contract next summer and that could well mean that Lyon have to accept a cut price offer for the player.
Arsenal fans are of course eagerly awaiting the arrival of Real Madrid’s Gonzalo Higuain which seems to be taking forever, and as one of our punters quips, will finally signal some major activity for Arsene Wenger and his side in the transfer window after much talk and very little action for the club.
As we all know, there is a £70 million kitty for Wenger to spend this summer and given how highly Grenier is rated, the popular opinion here by the bar is that he should spend some of it on the young Frenchman.
Should Arsenal up their attempts to land Clement Grenier this summer? Let us know your thoughts below.
