Arsenal have enjoyed some success of late in the Premier League after their usual difficult start, and the Gunners will be hoping to reclaim their Champions League spot come the end of the campaign.
Manager Arsene Wenger has once again ridden the storm of controversy and resisted the urge to walk away, and it’s looking like he will once again have a decent season at the helm at the Emirates.
Our landlord here in the Tavern thinks that the Gunners could do with adding some more faces to the squad though, particularly in defence and out wide, and he thinks young Englishman Ryan Sessegnon could be the perfect fit for Arsenal for years to come.
The Fulham teenager has been simply superb since breaking into the team under Slavisa Jokanovic, enjoying a breakout campaign last year and going on again this year to deliver some excellent performances.
Similar in playing style to that of a young Gareth Bale, Arsenal would have to beat off a host of suitors to sign him, but Wenger has a good track record of capturing and nurturing quality young players, and the chance to work with Sessegnon is one which would excite the Frenchman.
Sessegon is a class act, and looks to have a career ahead of him right at the top of the footballing pyramid. It’s simply a matter of time before he moves on from the Cottage, and Arsenal could be the ideal destination for him to flourish.
