Arsenal not keen on entering bidding war

suarez.jpgThe Daily Mail have a sensational few quotes from Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger today as they note that the Frenchman will not pay anywhere near £100 million for Luis Suarez.

The forward has become the only summer transfer target of the Gunners and the steadfast refusal by Liverpool to sell the player to Arsenal or even let him begin negotiations with the North London club has seen fans and the media turn on Wenger for his transfer policy.

At one time the club were in the running for the likes of Gonzalo Higuain and Stevan Jovetic yet have now been left with a total of zero big summer signings and that Premier League title challenge looks further away than ever.

Now Wenger has claimed that should Brendan Rodgers’ side ask for even more money that he has already offered for the striker, a deal will be off the cards, and when asked if Suarez would command the fee Gareth Bale is going for, the Frenchman noted: “I don’t understand this kind of thinking. I wouldn’t like to talk openly about negotiations because that’s not my target in a press conference.

“We will work very hard to strengthen our squad, without naming any specific names.

“When you want to buy any player you need the agreement of the club and the player. It’s like going to your neighbour and saying, “I want to buy your house, move out tomorrow morning”. I will treat every transfer in a fair, respectful way.”
