Arsenal offer England international to Premier League rival

Oxlade-ChamberlainArsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern are contemplating the latest news they’ve heard in the bar today, which suggests a talented first-team asset could be forced out of the club.

The Daily Mirror states the Gunners are getting ready to offload Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain this summer and, as a result, have offered him to London rivals West Ham United.

Arsene Wenger is set to complete a clear-out in north London this summer after a disappointing campaign and 22-year-old Oxlade-Chamberlain, who’s endured a season out of form, is one of the players set to be sent on his way.

Since moving to Arsenal in 2011, Oxlade-Chamberlain has struggled to live up to his expectations and develop into the player the Gunners hoped he would be. During his five years at Arsenal, he’s struggled to maintain a first-team place and has also found it difficult to find form.

With his performances and injury record this season, it’s extremely unlikely that the 24-capped England international will be selected by Roy Hodgson for this summer’s European Championships.

Our landlord feels Arsenal may live to regret a permanent departure for Oxlade-Chamberlain, so he’s suggested they try a loan spell initially.

Arsenal fans, should you axe Oxlade-Chamberlain this summer? Let us know in the comments below!
