‘Arsenal Offers Integrity Rather Than Cold Hard Cash’

Samir, saw the easy path, saw the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, took the money and ran off to the ‘Promised Land’ of Middle Eastland’s. But it seems all that glitters is not gold.

Like Hleb & Flamini before him, after one good season in the Premier League, a big, money whore of a team came-a-calling and off he trotted, claiming he was chasing medals and titles, when we all know he was really looking forward to was the 200k-a-week in his sky rocket.

Now, Samir is hoping that over the Christmas period the bench at Sheik City is heated, because looking at the way things are, that’s where he will be spending the majority of the festivities, as he has dropped down the pecking order behind Milner and City’s defensive midfield formation in the fight for a slot in the, soon to be playing in the Europa League, team. I suppose the money burning a hole in his pocket should help him keep warm though!!!

Hleb & Flamini suffered from jumping ship too early when the cash was flashed. I believe that Samir’s path is going the same way. Chasing the money rarely pans out the way you claim it will and it all comes down to the love of football or the love of the all powerful dollar.

TV5 on the other hand decided to man up and stay for the fight. Promoted to vice captain, following Cesc’s dream move to Barca, and one of the first names on Le Boss’s team-sheet, Tommy now feels the players who have stayed loyal can now reap the benefits.

Talking ahead of Tuesday nights Carling Cup quarter final with Man City, Thomas said:

‘I think the structure the structure of the club is really good & I believe in the club. That is why I signed a new contract with Arsenal.

‘You can always go somewhere else but it doesn’t mean that somewhere else is better. Arsenal is a really nice club and I feel home here. The board, the boss and the fans give me a lot of belief.

Why should I leave? People always think that when times are difficult it will get better if they go to another club. But when it’s tough it doesn’t mean you have to quit. You have to fight for it. We had to look to look at ourselves when our start to the season wasn’t perfect.

We had to fight for every single point and we did that. I believe we can now grow and get better and better.’

In the end it comes down to, class, integrity, a love of football and of the club – something the fans have in abundance and a number of players just don’t understand!!!
