Arsenal open talks over second summer deal, could be finalised within days

The Arsenal fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern are calling for manager Arsene Wenger to kick on this summer, having landed Sead Kolasinac early in the window and are celebrating some positive news on the transfer front this evening.

According to reports in the Daily Mail, officials from north London have opened talks with French champions Monaco over a deal for winger Thomas Lemar as Wenger looks to overhaul his side before the new season.

Better still for those of an Arsenal persuasion drinking in the bar tonight, the report also states that they hope to have the deal completed early next week.

The 21-year-old, who played a key role in helping the principality side to their first league title in 17 years – as well as the Champions League semi-finals – last season, looks as if he’ll set the FA Cup winners back around £30m this summer.

Our landlord has made it clear to the Gooners in the Tavern that this must only be the start, Wenger must continue to add players of Lemar’s calibre if he wants to build a winning side for the coming season.

Arsenal fans, we want to hear from you! Do you think Lemar will be at your club in a week’s time? Is he worth the £30m? Let us know…
