Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern are concerned about the amount of work that needs to go into rebuilding the Gunners squad over the summer but it seems the north London giants have started their work early.
Spanish media outlet Marca state Arsenal have opened negotiations with Europa League semi-finalists Villarreal about the services of Spanish U21 midfielder Denis Suarez, who has been in electric form this season.
The Gunners are keen to bolster their midfield ranks this season with veteran trio Tomas Rosicky, Mikel Arteta and Mathieu Flamini set to leave the Emirates Stadium, with the likes of Borussia Monchengladbach’s Granit Xhaka and Leicester City’s N’Golo Kante being linked with a transfer.
However, it seems Arsenal have also cast their eyes elsewhere by opening talks for Villarreal’s Suarez but they could face competition from Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City, who have also been linked to the young talent.
Our landlord believes Suarez would be an excellent addition to Arsenal’s midfield but urges the Gunners to seal more transfers, as he doesn’t feel this one signing would be enough.
Gooners, how many midfield additions do you need this summer? Let us know in the comments below!
