Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern are crying out for changes to their underwhelming midfield this summer and it appears that the club is actually listening for once.
The Sun states the Gunners have placed Leicester City’s breakthrough star N’Golo Kante at the top of their summer wish-list, whilst talks have been held regarding Borussia Monchengladbach ace Granit Xhaka.
25-year-old Kante has excelled with the Premier League leaders this season, making the PFA Team of the Year, and he could help inspire the Foxes to historic victory this weekend as a win against Manchester United would seal their first top-flight crown.
Kante has spent just one season in English football but has been thoroughly impressive, with Arsenal scouting the French midfielder on a number of occasions, and they see Kante as the perfect addition to a midfield needing a wealth of changes.
Mathieu Flamini, Mikel Arteta and Tomas Rosicky will all leave north London upon the expiration of their contracts this summer, whilst the likes of Aaron Ramsey have been underwhelming.
Our landlord believes Kante would be the perfect addition to add a spine to the Arsenal side, whilst he’d give Arsenal a quality looking midfield alongside the likes of Ramsey, Jack Wilshere, Santi Cazorla, Francis Coquelin and Mohamed Elneny.
