Arsenal planning raid on fellow Premier League side to seal double signing

AaronsArsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern aren’t the best of friends with our Newcastle United supporting punters, as reports today suggested the Gunners will swoop to snatch two prized-assets.

The Daily Express says Arsene Wenger has set his sights on two Newcastle players ahead of this summer’s transfer window, as he aims to seal a deal for both Rolando Aarons and goalkeeper Freddie Woodman.

Aarons, 20-years-old, has been regularly linked with the Gunners for the past two transfer windows and Arsenal’s search for a long-term goalkeeper has seen them plot a move for 19-year-old Woodman.

Whilst Newcastle can expect to receive some funds from the Gunners in a tribunal, should the duo move, the Magpies are poised to lose both players on a free transfer as their contracts expire at the end of the season.

Of the pair, Woodman is most likely to move as he’s yet to open talks regarding a new deal whilst Aarons has previously stated his desire to break into Newcastle’s first-team.

Our landlord feels both transfers are very likely to go ahead, particularly if Newcastle fail to avoid relegation this term.
