Arsenal fans themselves in the Transfer Tavern have been questioning Arsene Wenger’s decisions all season but the latest development could be crucial in the future of the French boss.
The Telegraph says Arsenal’s players and staff are baffled by some of Wenger’s recent decisions, which includes the decision to give the Gunners players a day off on Monday after a crushing draw with Crystal Palace on Sunday.
That result wiped away any dwindling hope of Arsenal snatching the Premier League title and saw them concede third-place to Manchester City, leaving the Gunners battling for a top-four position once again.
Arsenal had already been given the Friday before the game off and, overall, Arsenal have been given four of the last nine days off, which is incredibly concerning to fans given the decline in the Gunners form and their recent struggles.
On top of this, Wenger’s team selections and substitutions have also come under scrutiny, specifically not utilising Per Mertesacker as a direct challenger to Andy Carroll during the 3-3 draw with West Ham and utilising David Ospina in the same game.
