Arsenal plotting January move for talented 5ft 11 forward

Viktor FischerArsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern have been alerted to reports that link the Gunners to a forward signing in January- although not the calibre of striker they were hoping for.

Italian media outlet CalcioMercato declare that Arsene Wenger’s side will make a move for Danish sensation Viktor Fischer in the January transfer window, as they aim to improve their faltering forward line.

The Gunners’ failure to capture a world-class forward over the summer has hurt their progression this season, with the consecutive FA Cup winners losing four games in the opening six weeks of the new campaign.

21-year-old Fischer, currently at Ajax where he is coached by Arsenal legend Dennis Bergkamp, is excelling this season after striking five goals in his first nine appearances in all competitions for the Dutch side.

Whilst the numbers are impressing the Arsenal punters at the bar, they have their doubts on another young forward after seeing the likes of Joel Campbell and Yaya Sanogo impress elsewhere but fail to make the cut at the Emirates.

They’ve also reminded us that it would be difficult for another Danish talent to star in North London, after former-striker Nicklas Bendtner set impeccable heights for any compatriot.

Arsenal fans, is this the sort of move your club should be eying in January? Let us know in the comments below!
