Italian media outlet CalcioMercato state Arsenal will look to capture Napoli’s Gonzalo Higuain but will likely have to wait until the summer to do so.
Whilst that isn’t too surprising, given the links between the Argentine forward and the Gunners, the staggering claim is that Arsenal would have no problem with activating the player’s hefty £68m release clause.
The 27-year-old has been regularly linked with North London ever since leaving Real Madrid in 2013 but has suffered from continued losses of form, which have led numerous fans in the bar to raise their disscontempt at the proposed addition.
However, Higuain has done well in Serie A so far this term after firing seven goals in the opening nine matches; with the Naples outfit currently sat third in the table, three points off top-spot with a game in hand.
Arsenal fans, is £68m too much for Gonzalo Higuain? Would he be the right addition? Let us know in the comments below!
