Arsenal plotting £35m raid for Premier League star

With every passing day, the Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern are losing hope of keeping Alexis Sanchez.

The contract rebel has refused to pen fresh terms and is attracting interest from the likes of Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City ahead of the upcoming January transfer window.

Arsenal may be forced into selling the Chile international, alongside Mesut Ozil, in January in order to avoid losing them both for free in the summer.

Because of this situation, Arsene Wenger has already been looking at alternative options in the attacking midfield departments as a contingency plan in case Sanchez does depart in January.

His search has led him to Crystal Palace star Wilfried Zaha, according to an exclusive report by The Sun.

Zaha has been the undoubted star for Crystal Palace over the last two seasons but could be tempted away from Selhurst Park with his club anchored to the bottom of the Premier League table.

Arsenal are eyeing a £35m swoop for the Ivory Coast international, whose game has developed immensely since he left Manchester United to re-join the Eagles three years ago.

The Gunners face competition from rivals Spurs but could look to steal a march by firming up their interest with a bid in January.
