Arsenal supporting punters here in the Football Transfer Tavern are in a positive mood, especially after reading the news from the Express – with the publication suggesting that the Gunners are considering making a £10.5 million bid for Brazilian striker Luis Henrique in January.
The publication cites a report from Goal Brazil, which claims that the 17-year-old’s agent is eager to find the striker a new club, and subsequently move away from his current club Botafogo.
Our resident Arsenal fans over by the billiards table here in the Tavern think this is exciting news, and feel that if a 17-year-old can start for the Botafogo first-team and score two goals on his debut, he must be pretty special!
Our landlord here in the Transfer Tavern feels that Wenger needs to be targeting established, world-class strikers, rather than a young prodigy from Brazil, but he also admits that Henrique could potentially become the new Neymar, so who knows!
The Gunners only have Olivier Giroud and Theo Walcott as their main strikers, with Danny Welbeck sidelined through injury – s0 a move for a new striker in January is surely going to happen!
