Arsenal pot Premier League star on summer wish-list

Odion IghaloArsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern are hoping for imminent business on the transfer front to assure them of Premier League success but it seems they may have to wait until the summer for top-class additions.

The Mirror states Arsene Wenger has placed Watford hotshot Odion Ighalo on his summer striking wish-list, with the 26-year-old joining Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as a big summer target.

Arsenal were heavily linked with striker’s last summer but failed to land anyone, though Olivier Giroud and Theo Walcott have led the line superbly this season. However, the general consensus is that they need an upgrade if they are to challenge for the highest honours consistently.

With Premier League experience, Ighalo has caught Arsenal’s eye and the Gunners are preparing the groundwork for a summer deal.

Watford have made it abundantly clear that Ighalo, and strike-partner Troy Deeney, will not be leaving in January as the Hornets look to continue their project- which has seen them impress in the top-flight this term.

Our landlord isn’t convinced Ighalo would be a regular starter for Arsenal though, believing Giroud is a higher calibre of striker.

Arsenal fans, would Ighalo be a good signing? Let us know in the comments below!
