Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern are nervously anticipating the remainder of the Premier League campaign, as they believe it’s their best chance in a decade to win the title but are concerned they will slip-up.
With January signings a necessity for Arsene Wenger’s side, Talksport claim reports in Turkey suggest Arsenal are weighing-up an £8m swoop for Besiktas ace Oguzhan Ozyakup.
Ozyakup, a graduate of Arsenal’s famed academy, was sold by the Gunners in 2012 for only £350,000 but his performances since have caught the eye of his former employers.
Arsenal need to improve their midfield ranks, with Mikel Arteta and Mathieu Flamini currently the back-up to Santi Cazorla and Francis Coquelin, and Ozyakup may be an easy target to persuade to come to North London due to his prior links with the club.
Whilst many will be concerned Arsenal let him go in the first place, with it clear the young midfielder has bags of talent, Gooners need only to look across North London and see the impression Nemanja Matic has made with Chelsea upon his return to the Premier League.
