Arsenal prepare improved bid to land talented Premier League defender

ChilwellArsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern are sinking their pints in an excited fashion this afternoon, as they anticipated some positive transfer news from their club.

The Sun states that Arsenal are preparing an improved offer of £4m for Leicester City full-back Ben Chilwell, having seen a £3m bid for the highly-rated full-back rejected previously.

19-year-old Chilwell is tipped for a bright future and Arsenal are keen on his signature, which would secure the wide positions of their defence for the next decade as they already boast Spanish sensation Hector Bellerin amongst their ranks.

Arsenal’s interest has so far been fended off by the Foxes but the Gunners are readying another swoop before Monday’s deadline, as they look to fight off rival interest from Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool.

Chilwell spent the first three months of the season on-loan and Huddersfield and is yet to make a Premier League appearance for the Foxes, although he did feature in both of Leicester’s FA Cup clashes with Tottenham.

Arsenal are confident of completing a deal, even if they have to wait until the summer, and our landlord believes this transfer is now inevitable.
