Arsenal appear to be making moves to secure one of Brazil’s brightest prospects as quickly as possible.
According to a report by Goal, the Gunners are understood to have prepared to make an offer of £4million to bring Ituano’s Gabriel Martinelli to the Premier League.
There is believed to be plenty of interest in the midfielder, with the likes of Corinthians, Cruzeiro, Flamengo, Palmeiras and Santos all in his homeland keen, whilst TEAMtalk have claimed the likes of Leeds United, Watford and Middlesbrough are also interested.
However, it is understood the board at Arsenal have already signed off on the move for Martinelli and are looking to advance with their current offer.
And, their chances of landing the teenager may have been given a boost as the 17-year-old is believed to be close to obtaining an Italian passport.
Arsenal appear to be in pole position to sign Martinelli ahead of everyone else and could be an excellent addition in the future.
The midfielder has had trials with the likes of Barcelona and Manchester United in the past, showing that there is definitely potential when it comes to the player.
A lot is expected of the 17-year-old in terms of how far he can go in the game, as he has once been described as one of Brazil’s ‘best prospects’ – which is some claim.
