Arsenal fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern are used to missing out on things, and it seems that according to the The Express it is set to happen again.
The publication claim that the Gunners are set to miss out on Diego Costa, who is Chelsea bound, and have to turn their attentions to Mario Mandzukic instead.
The Bayern Munich forward has also been linked with Chelsea, and despite Bayern claiming that he will not be leaving in the summer, we think there is a chance the Gunners could land him.
Given the striker will be on the fringes when Robert Lewandowski arrives at the Allianz Arena in the summer, we think that the chance of having first team football week in, week out could be a massive lure for him, and expect a move to the Emirates Stadium to dominate the back pages this summer.
However, Mandzukic has still managed to net 24 goals this season and we think that Arsene Wenger should move quickly for the 27-year-old before he misses out once again!
Is a move for Mario Mandzukic simply a transfer necessity for Arsenal this summer? Let us know your thoughts below.
