Arsenal ramp up price for midfielder deal

The Arsenal fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern are still holding onto their pre-season friendly win over their Champions League tormentors Bayern Munich, albeit on penalties.

Those keen to move on from the win over Carlo Ancelotti’s side are avidly looking into rumours surrounding the future of fan favourite, Jack Wilshere.

The midfielder, who spent last season on loan with Bournemouth in an attempt to get his career back on track, looks set to leave the club on a permanent basis this summer, with reports from the Daily Star linking him with a move across London to West Ham.

The Gunners, however, won’t let him go easily to Premier League rivals, with the tabloid claiming that the FA Cup winners will demand £20m plus a buy-back clause if they are to entertain a deal for the England international.

That claim goes well against reports earlier this week which stated the north Londoners were happy to sell, outside of the Premier League, to Sampdoria for a fee of £8.8m.

The 25-year-old caused a stir amongst Hammers fans when he praised their signing of Three Lions teammate Joe Hart on a season-long loan from Manchester City.

Arsenal fans, we want to hear from you! After an average season with Bournemouth, can you really expect £20m for Wilshere? Let us know…
