There are some sensational transfer reports in the Football Transfer Tavern this lunchtime as Matt Law from The Telegraph reports that Arsenal are preparing to revive their interest in Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata.
It is thought that Arsene Wenger was interested in taking the 21-year-old on-loan for the rest of the season during January, but the La Liga giants rejected their offer as they viewed as an useful squad member.
However the recent emergence of Jese at the Bernabeu has left the Spanish U-21 international feeling frustrated with the lack of game time at Madrid and that could see him looking for a move away in the summer.
Real are likely to want around £15million for their talented striker, but that won’t be a problem for Arsenal who are thought to have around £50m to spend in the summer.
These reports were exaggerated by Jamie Sanderson from Metro who popped into the bar to explain that he believes Morata has ‘agreed terms’ with the Emirates Stadium outfit, with wages expected of around £100,000-a-week expected.
It seems that if a fee with Madrid can be agreed then Morata could be pulling on the Gunners jersey next season.
We reckon that the Gunners do stand a chance in their transfer pursuit but what do you think? Let us know your thoughts below.
