Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern are thankful their club appears to be making progress in the transfer front, with the club stuck in a rut on the field, and they’ve been given indication a move for a long-term target will be made this summer.
Italian outlet Corriere Dello Sport state Arsenal are ready to launch a £16m swoop for Inter Milan ace Marcelo Brozovic, who the Gunners have been tracking for a while.
The 23-year-old is currently on-loan at the San Siro from Dinamo Zagreb but it’s been apparent for some time that the Italian giants would not keep hold of the midfielder, despite his impressive performances in the Serie A.
Whilst they’d like to, financial implications will take their toll and an large offer from Arsenal would force the hand of Inter, who will purchase the player permanently this summer as per their agreement with Croatian outfit Dinamo.
It’s good news for Arsenal as their midfield ranks definitely need bolstering significantly, especially with experienced trio Mikel Arteta, Tomas Rosicky and Mathieu Flamini all set to leave this summer upon the expiration of their contracts.
