Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern are preparing themselves for the first managerial change in two decades, after their pints were disrupted by reports of a famous face potentially replacing their struggling boss.
According to Le 10 Sport, Arsenal’s all-time leading goalscorer Thierry Henry has been lined-up to replace Arsene Wenger and a move could happen as early as this summer.
Henry has long been identified as a future manager for the Gunners and with Arsenal winning just two of their last 12 games in all competitions under Wenger, speculation is rising to suggest the long-term boss could be replaced in the summer.
According to respected journalist Karim Nedjari, who’s broken several Arsenal news stories in the past, Henry is the man identified to succeed Wenger eventually.
‘One day Henry will replace Wenger. His philosophy and ruthless mentality make him the boss. He will leave his comfortable chair [as a pundit] and put on his track suit.’
Our landlord believes Henry would be a solid choice further down the line but he’s adamant Arsenal need a more experienced boss this summer, a stance many supporters in the bar agree with.
