Arsenal fans are looking fed up here in the Football Transfer Tavern with the latest claim coming from the Metro who note that the club have rejected a bid from Roma for Gervinho.
The player has been on the verge of an exit from the club for some time now and fans are quite frankly ready to see him leave. As one of our punters quips, when it is going viral on twitter that Arsenal have changed their bid for Luis Suarez from £40 million and a pound to £40 million and Gervinho, you know things are bad. The forward has never really performed at the Emirates and now in order to raise cash and free up some places in the squad Wenger is willing to sell him.
Roma are on the look out for a forward and new manager Rudi Garcia of course knows the winger well from their time spent together at Lille and put an £8 million bid on the table. Arsenal rejected said bid out of hand and made it clear that unless an offer of around £12 million was tabled, Gervinho would be going nowhere. It is thought that should a bid of £10 million be made, the sides could meet in the middle and reach a deal.
