Arsenal rejected in bid for French Under-21 international

Wenger has money to spend Arsene Wenger has the power to confuse many people in the Football Transfer Tavern – not just Arsenal fans.

According to talkSPORT, Arsenal have had an approach for Juventus’ French Under-21 international Kingsley Coman rejected.

The French attacking midfielder only moved to Juventus this summer after his contract at Paris Saint-Germain expired, leaving him free to join the Serie A outfit.

He attracted a lot of interest during the summer with several clubs keen to sign the up-and-coming starlet who became PSG’s youngest ever first team player.

And according to reports, Arsenal are keen to lure him to the Emirates Stadium with a £3 million bid after being impressed with his progress.

It is believed that the bid will be rejected out of hand as Juventus look to stave off interest for one of Europe’s hottest prospects.

Coman signed a five-year deal – worth £10,500-a-week – just a couple of months ago so the Italian giants will be under no pressure to sell the 18-year-old.

It begs the question why Wenger did not attempt to sign the player on a free transfer when he had the opportunity in July.
