Arsenal reportedly keen on 2-time league winner as Wenger considers summer plans

The Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern are hoping for big things this summer…

A serious rebuild is needed at the Emirates this close season after the nightmare that was the 2016/17 campaign for the Gunners. Though winning the FA Cup saved the blushes of Arsene Wenger somewhat, the London outfit’s failure to finish in the top four has really put the pressure on for next season.

Indeed, nothing less than a real title challenge will be accepted, and so Wenger has to make sure that his side is as strong as it can be ahead of next year.

The recruitment of a few new players, then, would make sense, and according to Gianluca Di Marzio, the Gunners are considering a move for a Serie A midfield. According to Di Marzio, Arsenal are considering a move for Mario Lemina, who has won Serie A twice with Juventus.

Lemina enjoyed varying levels of success in Italy last season, making just 8 starts in Serie A over the course of the campaign. A central midfielder by trade, his main traits are his impressive passing ability, whilst he is also very difficult to dispossess. In many ways, he is a very typical deep-lying central midfielder, able to push passes forward with relative ease.

The heart of the midfield is certainly an area that needs improvement at the Emirates this summer, and so our landlord thinks that Lemina could be a great option.
