Arsenal reportedly make their move for attacking ace, Wenger is said to also have a backup plan

The Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern can’t quite believe what they’re hearing…

According to L’Equipe, the Gunners have launched a whopping €100 million move for Monaco sensation Kylian Mbappe – who has also attracted interest from Man City and Real Madrid – with Arsene Wenger seemingly keen to follow up his recent contract signing with a huge summer move. A €100 million (£87.25 million) move is said to have been made, whilst Wenger also reportedly has Alexandre Lacazette in mind as a potential alternative should his pursuit of Mbappe not go to plan.

Unsurprisingly, this has left the Arsenal fans in the pub in dreamland, with the signing of Mbappe enough to leave most supporters in the pub drooling into their pint glasses.

The Frenchman has been a standout figure in Ligue 1 this season, quickly emerging as one of Europe’s brightest talents. Lethal in front of goal, Mbappe bagged 15 league goals during the 2016/17 season.

Despite being just 18-years-old, he plays like an experienced veteran, and for the Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern, there is nobody better. That being said, the signing of Lacazette would also delight them – with the Frenchman’s 28 league goals this season enough to tempt anyone.

Certainly, both players will be tough to capture for Wenger, but it appears as though the manager is doing all he can. With Danny Welbeck unreliable due to his injury history, and Olivier Giroud often struggling from the start this season, the signing of a new striker is an important summer goal, and Wenger clearly wants to achieve it quickly.
