The Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern are hoping for an extensive rebuild this summer…
Last season was, without doubt, a very poor one for the Gunners – and their FA Cup final victory against Chelsea at the end of the campaign has done very little to quell fears amongst supporters in the Transfer Tavern.
Indeed, with Arsenal dropping out of the top four and subsequently missing out on Champions League football next season, there is a real sense of anxiety about whether they can recover next year.
Clearly, the side are a few steps behind their rivals, and subsequently, our landlord thinks that they need a few major signings to beef up their chances. Fortunately for Arsene Wenger, he may have received a boost in that regard this week – with The Telegraph reporting that star striker Kylian Mbappe could be open to a move to The Emirates this summer. It is noted that the success rate that Arsene Wenger has with young players has influenced his decision, with the player viewing Arsenal as a good place to build his talents.
Whilst a deal may still remain unlikely, mainly due to the transfer fee that he would likely carry, this will certainly give Arsene Wenger some scope to consider a move, with the Frenchman undoubtedly the sort of player that he needs to improve his side this summer.
He bagged 15 league goals last season, despite his tender years, and with Arsenal in need of a striker, he could be a perfect fit. In truth, he has been touted as a dream signing amongst supporters in the pub, and it is easy to see why. They’re getting awfully excited now…Like what the TT have on offer?
