Arsenal representatives off to Brazil

Arsene Wenger has money to spendWorld Cup fever is underway in the Football Transfer Tavern, but Arsenal representatives have something else to do in Brazil

As according to The Metro, the Gunners have held talks with Brazilian side Gremio over a deal for young defender Bressan.

Reports suggest that Arsene Wenger has sent chief negotiator Dick Law to Brazil for further negotiations with the club having already held initial talks with representatives.

The 21-year-old started his career at Juventude before impressing Gremio enough to sign him in 2013.

He has previously been linked with Santos but Arsenal are keen on luring him to England as they look for competition for Per Mertesacker and Laurent Koscielny.

Any potential deal could also pave away out of the club for Thomas Vermaelen to leave.

The Gunners captain has an uncertain future at the club, having been unable to break up the first choice partnership of Mertesacker and Koscielny last season.

Arsenal fans: It looks like signing Brennan could be somewhat of a risk. Would you be better of targeting somebody more experienced? Let us know your thoughts below.
