Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern are uttering every curse word they can think of, after hearing their club is trying to pinch the pennies once again.
German outlet Bild state Arsenal’s reluctance to increase their offer for Granit Xhaka by just £2m is putting their chances of landing the Borussia Monchengladbach man in jeopardy, which is concerning to the supporters.
Arsenal have been heavily linked to the 23-year-old and it’s reported a bid of £33.1m has been placed, though that falls short of Gladbach’s £35.3m valuation of the Swiss international. However, should the Gunners match that fee, a deal is likely to go through.
Xhaka is keen to join the Gunners and wants his future resolved before the European Championship’s next month but Arsenal playing hardball is frustrating for fans, who watched the Gunners miss out on Luis Suarez a few years back after an insulting bid.
Our landlord feels Arsenal won’t miss out on this deal though and urges patience from the supporters.
