Arsenal rival Barcelona for sensational Spanish forward

4444536Arsenal fans here in the Transfer Tavern have been in a gloomy mood in recent days, following a shock defeat to Olympiakos in the Champions League, but they’ve raised their pints at a tasty rumour from the continent.

Over in the tapas corner, Fichajes state that the Gunners are looking to beat the mighty Barcelona to the signature of Celta Vigo star Nolito, who is in sensational form in the early stages of the La Liga season.

Nolito has tucked away four goals and secured three assists in the opening six league games, which included an eye-catching performance as Celta caused uproar in the Tavern by beating Barcelona 4-1 at the Nou Camp; ruining many accumulators.

Metro get in on the fun by stating the Gunners are ready to activate the 28-year-old’s release clause in January, which stands at £13.3m, as they look to ease the attacking burden upon the shoulders of Alexis Sanchez.

Theo Walcott has started the season in blistering form, smashing in three goals in four starts recently, but the Gunners lack a clinical attacker- a problem that the addition of Nolito could solve.

Arsenal fans, is this the signing you need? Should Wenger be focusing on the defence after the shambles in the Champions League? Let us know your views below!
