Stade Rennais 20 year old defensive midfielder Yann M’Vila has been attracting attention from top Premiership clubs in recent weeks. It’s rumoured that Arsenal and Manchester United are likely to be at the head of the queue for the French International.
Last month M’Vila is quoted in The Daily Star as saying “Manchester United is the club of my dreams.” This came in the wake of United management duo Sir Alex Ferguson and Mike Phelan watching Rennes defeat to Marseille, ahead of United’s Champions League encounter with the latter.
As recently as yesterday Talksport announced that Arsenal have laid the foundations to make a move for the £15 million rated M’Vila. Reports circulating in France suggest Arsenal have also watched M’Vila in action and are preparing to raid Rennes for the highly rated youngster at the end of the season.
Talksport also revealed that a Rennes source had said “We know there are many clubs who want M’Vila but only a big offer will tempt us to sell him. We have not received any official bids.”
The battle for M’Vila’s signature is likely to be a tug of war between Manchester United and Arsenal if reports are to be believed. However Juventus and Liverpool are also rumoured to be in the offing for Rennes manager Frederic Antonetti’s hottest prospect.
